About us

Kantaka has been helping businesses since 1999. It is built around the experience and expertise of Chris McEvoy.  Chris's experience includes business process re-engineering, project management, quality assurance, and procurement management.  He has an extensive background within technology-related support services.

Chris held a number of key management roles with technology industry leader Hewlett-Packard. His successes included:

• introduction and implementation of 'self-managed teams' enabling faster inter-team communication and a flatter, cheaper management structure
• start-up to full operational status of a new facility, implementing a new product production line, including ISO 9000 accreditation
• product line P & L, taking full responsibility for profitability
• CRM through e-business applications, building better relationships with major customers

One of Chris's major successes was establishing Hewlett-Packard’s support structure for its automotive diagnostic instrumentation. Chris implemented next-day unit exchange, guaranteeing clients that they would be back up and running by the next day. Hewlett-Packard were the first company to do this.

The system took one year to implement world-wide, and exceeded expectations. It both provided customer service that made Hewlett-Packard distinctively better than its competition, and was very cost-effective.

Kantaka Projects

Major projects recently undertaken by Kantaka include:

• UK wide study into the IT Security and Health & Safety aspects of Teleworking
• Strategic co-ordination on a number of large-scale MoD projects, in conjunction with the government’s smart procurement initiative
• A primary role in the introduction and implementation of TQM principles to SME's acting as sub-contractors and suppliers to international organisations
• Customer insight work, to ensure continuity and progress against objectives for a major transportation authority.

Chris holds an MBA, and is a member of the following professional organisations:

• Member of the Chartered Institute of Management
• Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultancy
• Member of the Institute of Directors
