Kantaka have exclusive rights in the UK and Europe to distribute the Constellation Technologies CT-1128 Portable Gas Chromatograph-Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer chemical analysis system.

Gas Chromatograph-Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) analysis is routinely used in analytical laboratories. It is used for quantitative determination and characterization of both known and unknown chemicals. The technology was originally developed by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Other commercial GC-MS systems are large, non-portable, laboratory based units. In order to transport them, the user must also transport all the necessary support equipment such as a gas supply and a vacuum system.

The CT-1128 is a light-weight and rugged, field-serviceable device and is available to Government organizations and private firms for environmental assessments, arms control and non-proliferation activities, as well as for detecting and identifying hazardous substances released during an accident or terrorist attack.  It can quickly confirm if a suspect substance is an illegal drug, or an explosive.

The CT-1128 therefore provides a cost-effective, efficient way to analyse, on-site, unknown chemicals in various emergency and non-emergency circumstances. The CT-1128 weighs approximately 32 kgs and is only 38cm L x 59cm W x 38cm H. It is completely contained in a single carrying case housing the entire system.

The CT-1128 currently has a range of 1.6 to 800 Atomic Mass Units (AMU). In January 2007 its range will be expanded to 1050 AMU, when the latest version of the HP 5975 (inert) core engine is integrated.

With its library of hundreds of known spectra, the CT-1128 is unmatched in its ability to allow First Responders, as well as others, to quickly, efficiently, and reliably assess the situation and take the proper precautions to protect everyone involved. 

It can be up and running within 30 minutes of arriving on site.
